Prof. (Dr.) Dolly Wattal Dhar is a well-established Agricultural Microbiologist with specialization in Algology. She worked at Centre for Conservation and Utilisation of Blue Green Algae, ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi-110012 for almost thirty-five years as Scientist, Sr. Scientist and Principal Scientist. At present, she is working as Dean, Sharda School of Agricultural Sciences, Sharda University, Greater Noida, UP, India. She is known for her contributions in research, teaching and extension. She has worked on enrichment of cyanobacterial germplasm, morpho-physiological and biochemical characterization, strain selection and improvement for nitrogen fixing ability, potential of microalgae for value addition (biopolymers, natural colours, proteins, lipids, food, and feed), waste water treatment, plant microbe interactions and molecular biodiversity analysis of cyanobacteria (RAPD, RFLP, 16SrRNA gene amplification and AFLP).
She has International research experience from Cambridge, UK; Belgium; New York and Ohio, USA. She was under the Faculty of Microbiology, IARI. She modified courses as per ICAR norms and guided students for M.Sc. and Ph.D. She was actively involved with the Extension activities and Institutes Village Linked Programme for the popularization of algal bio-fertilizer to the farmers. She has published papers in National as well as International journals. She is a member of reputed professional societies and reviewer of selected International journals.
