About the Programme
The MA Geography course offers a total of twenty-two modules (fifteen theory base and seven practical)  covering all major essential aspects of Geography, initiating students to discover their potential to grow further in specialized fields of geography. The programme follows NEP guidelines and focuses on developing research and practical skills.
The curriculum offers a balanced physical geography, human geography, and robust practical features to spot human-environment, natural-social interactions, and collectively developed geographical understanding since geography is mainly a field-based discipline. Students can build up their explanatory abilities through great involvement in the Geography Lab where they can learn spatial innovation by using technology. The programme also uses spatial techniques and technologies to extract geographic information to assist in human progression for a better living place and assert responsibility for the environment.

The ‘Master of Arts in Geography programme offered by the department, aims to
PEO 1: empower students with knowledge and skills for spatial thinking and analysis,
PEO2:   demonstrate a detailed understanding of the selected core discipline of study.
PEO 3:  navigate real-world problems and contribute to society in a meaningful way.
PEO 4:  imbibe a scientific way of looking at the surroundings and simultaneously remain focussed on the human welfare, utility of resources, and environmental aspects.

PO1: Content Knowledge: Demonstrate thorough knowledge of the key concepts of physical and human geography.

Programme Specific Outcomes (PSOs)
At the end of the two-year (four-semester) course, students will have complete knowledge about evolved, contemporary subjects in geography, covering and converging both physical and human geography.  The students will be able to
- Appreciate the world because of the Homeland of mankind, and supply insights for Intelligent Management Decisions on the way to use the planet's resources.
- Understand Geography's way of watching the planet through space and Scale.
- Analysis of eco-social dynamics associated with act with the physical environment, human and social dynamics, linking ecological dynamics and economics with physical systems, Social and political systems.
- Conduct spatial representation using visual, verbal, mathematical, digital, and cognitive approaches.
