About

Vasala Saicharan is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Sharda University. His research focuses on sustainable water resource management, leveraging Remote Sensing, GIS, and Machine Learning to address critical challenges in hydrology, such as agricultural water footprints, groundwater modelling, and drought assessment. He specializes in high-resolution geospatial modelling and hydroinformatics, developing data-driven approaches to improve water resource management and sustainability.

Saicharan has actively contributed to the global research community through peer-reviewed publications and presentations at leading international conferences. His academic excellence is recognized through prestigious grants, including the SERB-ITS Travel Grant, AGU Travel Grant, IEEE GRSS Travel Grant, and IEEE GRSS Micro Grant. Beyond research, he plays a vital role in professional organizations such as IEEE GRSS, ISPRS SC, AGU-H3S, and SYAHI, contributing to conference organization, peer review, and mentorship of young researchers.
