About

Dr. Sourav Sarkar has been working as an Assistant Professor in the Sharda School of Agricultural Sciences, Sharda University. He obtained his B.Sc. (Agriculture) from Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya, Nadia, West Bengal and his M.Sc.  Entomology from ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi. He received a Ph.D. degree in Entomology with a specialization in Insect Physiology, from ICAR-IARI, New Delhi

Award & Recognition

Best poster presentation award (2nd position) in International conference on Global Research Initiatives for Sustainable Agriculture & Allied sciences (GRISAAS) (2017) on “Characterization of native Bacillus thuringiensis strains against Spodoptera litura (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae).

Best Oral presentation award on “Silencing of Juvenile Hormone Epoxide Hydrolase (JHEH) gene through RNAi in Spodoptera litura (Noctuidae: Lepidoptera) and their effect on larval growth and development”. In: XIX International Plant  Protection Congress (IPPC-2019), Hyderabad, India.

Recipient of ICARs Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) for M.Sc., Recipient of IARI Merit Scholarship for Ph.D. and  Recipient of Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship for SC Candidates during Ph.D. Qualified ICAR-JRF in Entomology group in 19th All India Entrance Examination (AIEEA-PG-2014), for Master degree programme in Agriculture and Allied Sciences, Qualified All India Entrance examination for Ph. D. conducted by ICAR-IARI, Qualified National Eligibility Test conducted by ASRB in the Discipline of Entomology for eligibility of Lectureship / Assistant Professorship.
