Prof. Michael V. Barbas has earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Strathclyde, UK, a Master of Arts (MA) from The University of Liverpool, UK, and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from the American College of Greece. In addition to that he has pursued studies in International Marketing at the University of Texas at Austin, USA, Project Management at Heriot-Watt University, UK, Training and Learning at The University of Ulster, UK, and Educational Psychology at University of Queensland, Australia and at Harvard University, USA. Currently, he is a Doctor in Business Administration (DBA) candidate with specialization in Decision Analysis at SSBM Geneva, Switzerland.
Prof. Michail V. Barmpas is Head of Department of Study Abroad Programs at Sharda University, Delhi NCR, India, and at the same time Professor of Marketing and Strategic
Planning in the Sharda School of Business Studies (SSBS) from 2009 to date. Prior to that, he worked as Adjunct Professor in Management for SUNY–Empire State University, USA, Lecturer in Marketing and Strategy for University of Surrey, UK, Instructor in Business Administration for City University of Seattle, USA, and Lecturer in Business for European University, Switzerland and Greece campuses.
Besides his academic experience, Prof. Michail V. Barmpas has extensive corporate training experience for 27+ years in multinational companies including Coca Cola Co, Delhaize Group, Dixons Retail, Marfin Investment Group, Carrefour, Eurobank Group, British American Tobacco, Club Hotel Casino Loutraki, Hellenic Duty-Free Shops, Bank of Cyprus, Barclays Bank, and others, in several countries including USA, UK, Greece, Mexico, Cyprus, Slovakia, the Channel Islands, Belgium, Bulgaria, and Switzerland. On top of that, he has been actively involved in Management Development Programs (MDR) in Sharda University training managers and executives from Cameroon and Burkina Faso.
Michail V. Barmpas research interests are in decision analysis, marketing strategy, relationship marketing, scenario planning, strategy development and implementation, and institutional strategic management processes and he has published widely in these areas.
