About

Dr. Mohammad Irshad is working as an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Sharda School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Sharda University, Greater Noida, India. Dr. Irshad has taught for more than six years as an assistant professor of philosophy at Indraprastha College for Women and Shyama Prasad Mukherjee College, University of Delhi. He has submitted his PhD research work on Enframing Information Society: An Ethical Perspective at the Department of Philosophy, University of Delhi. During his M. Phil and PhD work, he has thoroughly worked on the varied intricacies of the information society that includes the significant debates emerging in the field of Philosophy of Information, Information Ethics, Ethics of AI, Social Media, Digital Realities, Digital Divide, Online Existence/Self, and Digital Humanities. During this research, he visited and worked with Chulalongkorn Universitys international think tank, the Center for Ethics of Science and Technology in Bangkok. He has also worked with IGNOU as a Digital Media and Cyber Ethics subject expert to prepare for the B.A. General Philosophy curriculum. He is deeply interested in the ethics of advanced technologies, including ICTs and artificial intelligence (AI). He has published research papers in national and international journals, presented papers and participated in more than 20 conferences in India and Abroad. He also contributes opinion pieces and book and movie reviews to Indian newspapers and media outlets, including Indian Express, The Pioneer, The Quint and Sablog. He has been conducting workshops on technology and AIs ethical concerns, and frequently delivering lectures on AI Ethics, Ethics of Social Media, Fake News, Misinformation and its role in the society at different public and private educational institutions of the country.

obtained his M. Tech degree in Computer Science & Engineering in 1999 from the GJUST Hisar, India. His research interests include Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Data Science and Security. He has published more than 80 research papers in various prestigious International Journals, indexed in SCI/SCIE/Scopus and International Conferences. He is a life member of CSI, IETE and member of IEEE. He was a convener and volume Editor of the international conference like ICETIT-2019 and ICRIHE-2020.  He authored and Edited 12 Computer Science books in field of Internet of Things, WSN, Block Chain and CFS of Springer, Elsevier, CRC Press, USA. He was selected as a reviewer/Editorial Board Member for several reputed international journals and conferences.
