Dr. Dhirendra Kumar Verma is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Sharda University Greater Noida, specializing in emerging technologies within technical education. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, focusing on developing wearable devices for human healthcare and innovative sensor methodologies for motion and disease detection. His research explores cutting-edge advancements in sensor technologies and their applications in enhancing healthcare systems, aiming to bridge the gap between technology and practical health solutions. During his research, Dr. Verma received a research grant from the New Generation Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre under the Department of Science and Technology Government of India. Dr. Verma's career spans several years as an Assistant Professor and Head of the Department at various technical institutes, where he honed his skills in academic leadership and curriculum development. His transition to research at the Institute of National Importance has further enriched his expertise, allowing him to contribute to significant advancements in his field. Driven by a passion for evolving technical education, Dr. Verma is dedicated to reforming educational practices through rigorous research and practical applications. He is committed to connecting students with their coursework in meaningful ways and striving to transform lives through education. By integrating his research insights into his teaching, Dr. Verma aims to foster a dynamic learning environment that prepares students for the challenges and opportunities in the ever-evolving field of Mechanical Engineering.

  • (July 2024-till date)- Working as an Assistant Professor in the School of Mechanical Engineering at Sharda University Greater Noida.  
  • (July 2012-June 2017) - Worked as an Assistant professor at IIMT College of Engineering Greater Noida
  • (Aug 2008-June 2012) - Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at United College of Engineering and Research, Greater Noida, with the capacity of the HOD
  • (Aug 2006-June 2007) - As a lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Kamla Nehru Institute of Technology Sultanpur (U. P.)
Qualification
  • Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati. Thesis title: Development of Wearable Systems for the Detection and Classification of Knee Osteoarthritis and Its Validation Through Radiographic Images.
  • M.Tech (2009-2014) in Computer Aided Design from Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam Technical University Lucknow.
  • B.Tech. (2002-2006) in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering from Shri Rammurti Smarak College of Engineering and Technology Bareilly, affiliated to Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam Technical University Lucknow.
