About

Dr. Ananda Babu is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Sharda School of Engineering and Technology, Sharda University, India.  Dr. Ananda Babu obtained his doctorate from Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore in the area of composite structural dynamics. He obtained his B.E-Manufacturing Engineering in College of Engineering, Guindy, Chennai, and his M.E- Engineering Design in PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore from Anna University. Dr. Ananda Babu worked in Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore about eight years with various designations. He has experience of about thirteen years in both teaching and research. In addition to academics and research, he contributes to program and institutional accreditation works limited to research and outcome-based education. His area of research interest includes dynamics of composite structures, damage modeling, hybrid materials modeling, and failure analysis of structures. He has published more than forty research papers in peer-reviewed international journals with high impact factors. He has authored three monographs in his field. Dr. Ananda Babu has recently completed a SERB-DST-funded project worth INR 24.18 Lakh sanctioned on 25th March 2019. He is currently working on a funded project as a Co-PI collaboration with Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore funded by ARDB, DRDO with Rs 15.6 Lakh. He has also completed the Indo-Egypt joint research project (2016-2018) as Co-PI in Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore sponsored by DST, New Delhi. He has qualified Lifing Specialist Level 1 certified by J.S. Rao, The Vibration Institute of India, 2010. He is the Corporate Member of the Institution of Engineers, India (IEI). He has secured Elite Silver with a 5 % Topper in the course Introduction to Composites conducted by SWAYAM-NPTEL. He has served as head of the department of mechanical engineering, SSET, Sharda University from May 2022 - Aug 2024.
