Dr. Anoop Kumar Mukhopadhyay, currently working since 22 June 2022 as Professor at the Department of Physics, Sharda School of Basic Sciences and Research, Sharda University, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India; did his Ph.D. from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India in 1988. He did his post doctoral research at the University of Sydney, Sydney, Australia and Forschungszentrum, Juelich, Germany (2.5 Years). Prior to taking up his current responsibility, Dr. Mukhopadhyay served as Chief Scientist in CSIR-Central Glass and Ceramic research Institute (CGCRI) during 1986-2018 from where he superannuated as Head of the Advanced Mechanical and Materials Characterization Division on 31-07-2018 and also served during 2018-2021 as Dean, Faculty of Science, Manipal University Jaipur, Jaipur, Rajasthan India from where he completed his tenure on 07-December 2021. While working at CSIR-CGCRI he has earned Projects worth of Rs. 90 Crore. He has published 194+ SCI/SCOPUS indexed journal papers (till 15 March 2022) in International journals and more than 10 book chapters. He is now an Associate Editor of Condensed Matter Physics Group of Frontiers in Physics Journal, and the Lead Guest Editor of the Special Issue on “Deformation and Fracture of Materials at Small Length Scales” of the same Journal. He has participated/presented paper in about 60 International conference/symposia/workshops and about 80 National conferences. He has also been involved in organizing 6 International and 20 National Conferences at CSIR-CGCRI, Kolkata, India. He is involved in teaching B. Sc., M. Sc, B. Tech., M. Tech. and Ph D. Research students at various Universities including Sharda University within the Country and abroad. His major research interest is in nanomaterials, their characterizations, and especially physics of deformation at small length scale.
