Event Description

The 26th January, on this nostalgic occasion of this red-letter day, Republic Day was celebrated with pride and patriotism at Sharda University on 26th January 2019. Sharda University has emerged as truly a global university where students from 74+ countries pursue the quality education. In such a learning environment, republic day celebration proved to be the perfect platform to exhibit the vivid cultures of our nation.
The ceremony began with the hoisting of the tricolor the pride of Nation by the revered Chief Guests, which was followed by the singing of the National Anthem vibrating with patriotic feeling. The chief guests and all the faculties present there were warmly welcomed by the NCC cadets of the University. They marched past on the ground spreading a different sense of pride and joy at the same time. After a thought provoking speech by our Vice Chancellor Prof. G.R C Reddy, the program commenced to celebrate the sovereignty of our nation. Program me was started by Classical Dance by ADITI and Ziya Dhar from students of Sharda University Daycare Kids (children) from the day care school and our “NGO KARTAVYA” students all of them presented beautiful dance performances, music show, skits and poetry recitation.  
A competition was held to promote a spirit of honor, integrity, dignity and uniqueness of our nation. The winner team was felicitated with certificates and a cash prize of 30,000 INR. The 1st Winner contingent School Of Education they Performed Maharashtra State , School Of Nursing Science research 1st runner up and 3rd prize winner Team - 2 School of Basic Science and Research Students soaked themselves in the hues of tricolor and participated with full enthusiasm. And the consolation prize was given to Music Club, Dance Club and NCC cadet of Sharda university team. Literary club student were present their motivational speech by honored by audience our anchors also underlined how important it is to for our nation to run with peace and brotherhood. The entire program was organized by Dean Students Welfare and their team looks after the end of the program

Bring a contingent and participate in the Republic Day Parade!!!
Prizes worth INR 30,000/- with many other gift hampers can be won by the participants.
Rules:
The minimum number of members in a contingent shall be 8 and the maximum number of members shall be
20.
Each contingent can choose a state/ country/theme to represent. The theme can be based on a socially
relevant issue.
In case if a contingent chooses a state/country, every member of the contingent shall be dressed in the ethnic
costume of the chosen region.
Each contingent will be given 3-4 min to showcase their culture/theme in the designated area.
The contingent present at the rehearsal (costume not necessary) will only be allowed to take part in the final
parade.
Every contingent shall follow the route laid down for the parade and other instructions given by the parade
management team.
