Event Description

Lohri was celebrated with full zeal and enthusiasm in the premises of Sharda University Greater Noida. The mood on the campus was upbeat and the students were totally absorbed in the festive spirit of Lohri. The students presented a cultural bonanza which included Punjabi song, Punjabi folk songs. The Lohri songs and poems in the campus.

Prof. Dean Student Welfare greeted the students and suggested them to value their cultural heritage. He also congratulated the students for their colourful program and said that it is only with these festivals that we are able to maintain our ancestral values and traditions. Lohri is the harvest festival of Punjab famously known as the bread basket state of India. Thus people residing in North India attach a lot of significance to Lohri. 

The program started with ‘Lohri Poojan. The DSW and the staff and the students worshiped the Bone fire. Till Reberi and Sweets and groundnuts (MUNGFALI) were also distributed among the students
