Industry Sponsored Lab

Internet of Things Lab co-sponsored by Aeris Communications

This laboratory will provide step-by-step guidance for students to learn about the necessary procedures and various setups required to begin working with the Internet of Things (IoT). The IoT refers to a network of interconnected devices and objects that communicate with one another and with people over the internet. One of the remarkable aspects of the IoT is that it is ubiquitous and not limited to a single engineering field.

To take advantage of this widespread technology and accelerate experimentation, an Industry sponsored IoT lab is setup in association with Aeris Communications. The IoT lab helps students exploring the opportunities provided by the IoT, and it includes high-quality software, hardware, and tools to experiment with innovative ideas.

This academic facility at the university contains both classrooms and labs to support the development of its expanding engineering and startup programs. The IoT lab, supported by Aeris Communication’s IoT specialists, is furnished with state-of-the-art smart technology and advanced capabilities. Aeris Communications India pvt. Ltd. offers telematics devices, IoT sensor services, cloud support and other innovative technologies as a part of this association with Sharda University.

As part of its ongoing research and development efforts, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Sharda University conducts pilot research programs and develops various projects with the facilities available at the IOT Lab. These projects are mainly aimed to solve environmental issues, automation and other issues from day-to-day life.

The IoT partnership between Sharda University and the Aeris Communications is a testament to Sharda’s commitment to various initiatives, which are dedicated to developing new technologies for the future of mankind.

Facilities Provided in Lab:

  • All PCs in lab are interconnected with a wide area network, provided with Internet facility.
  • Firewall protection is provided to each PC in lab, while accessing internet facilities.
  • 3D Printing facility for design and development of intricated hardware components.
  • Online access to library facilities (Books & Journal Articles) is provided to students.
  • Project development by students is conducted in guidance of specialized faculties in the field of IOT, Robotics, Drone Technology, AR&VR etc.
  • Hardware components are provided to students as per the project requirements.
  • Research Conducted is also converted to Publications and patents by the students.
  • Students are also assisted financially for significant project developments.
  • Students are also motivated and assisted to take part in various project competitions, hackathons, expo etc.

The industry sponsored lab will provide a great opportunity for Sharda students to understand IoT based technologies that address present and future technology challenges with smart, secure and interoperable solutions. Through this event, Aries Communications is providing the hardware and software resources, technology platform and student certifications.

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Sharda School of Engineering and Technology, Sharda University, has organized the Inaugural Ceremony of Industry Sponsored Lab - Internet of Things Lab co-sponsored by Aeris Communications on 09th February, 2023 (Thursday) at 12:00 Noon at Room no. 220, Block-1.
