Special Lecture on India Presidency of G20 Amb. Dinkar P. Srivastava, Former Diplomat, Government of India

The G20 university connect lecture series on “Engaging Young Minds” is a joint effort by the Ministry of External Affairs, the Government of India, and the Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS), to engage with students from 75 universities. This University Connect program seeks to spread awareness of the themes surrounding the G20 summit and engage young minds on the central theme of the G20 summit under Indias presidency, “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” thereby promoting multilateralism and global cooperation on sustainable development, climate change, and digital transformation. Sharda University, as a selected university, hosted the G20 University Connect lecture series on 25th April 2023. The event began with a welcome address by Prof (Dr) Sibaram Khara. He elaborated on the importance of the G20 India Presidency and the various activities conducted by Sharda University to create awareness about G20 in the university. In the keynote address delivered by Mr. Dinkar P. Srivastava, Former Ambassador and Diplomat, of the Government of India, he dwelled upon the history of G20 and its role in the economic development of the member nations. He also stressed the need for nations to move towards energy security. Delivering the special remarks, Shri Dinesh Rai, retd IAS highlighted the key points of PM Modis address while taking over of G20 Presidency by India and stressed the need for optimism and healing to create a new human paradise. Further, he stressed the need for Indian youth to identify the countrys shortcomings and work on developing those areas to make India a leading country. Prizes were distributed to the winners of the painting competition debate competition and Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam #G20 cultural exhibition. Dr Santhi Narayanan, Assistant Dean of Student Welfare and the University's overall coordinator for G20 initiatives delivered the vote of thanks.
