Sharda University witnessed the humble and dignified presence of Hon’ble Vice President of India – Mohammad Hamid Ansari on 17th April 2017 for an interactive session. The students were elated to the fullest as they got the golden chance of interacting with a global luminary. It was the moment of pride for the university as well as the students. With the footsteps of such a legendary man on the campus, one more feather added to the laurel of the university. Md. Hamid Ansari, being a noble leader, politely responded to the questions asked by the students. He was quite impressed with the curiosity of young talent while interaction session.

Hon’ble Vice President of India started his speech with the significance of two-way communication and added that’s why he wanted to interact with the youth directly to know their concerns closely. He appreciated the questions like whether the budget allocated for the education sector in our country is sufficient or not, why demographic dividend, and how research development can be enhanced in our country. His honest reactions to the question were really appreciable. With his motivational words, he encouraged the students to be able to answer the needs of tomorrow by developing their skills. He also stated that we need to develop a value system for excellence promotion. His Excellency emphasised on the following points:

  • Skill development is the need of today
  • Teaching must go hand in hand with research
  • Value system for excellence promotion
  • How scientific research centres garner talent

The joy and satisfaction could be easily seen on the faces of everyone present there after meeting a globally reckoned personality. Moreover, the presence of Shri P.K Gupta (Chancellor), Shri Y.K Gupta (Pro-Chancellor) and Prof. Vijay Gupta (Vice-Chancellor) gave more reasons to students to get delighted. Not even a single person present in the auditorium was ready for the denouement of the event as all of the attendees were captivated by the poise of Hon’ble Vice President of the nation. But finally, it was the time to wind up the event. Shri Y.K Gupta proposed a vote of thanks to his Excellency for gracing Sharda University with his noble presence.
