Sharda University after partnering with several leading educational institutions from around the world recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the eminent educational institution of China, Wuhan University. The six-member delegation from Wuhan University was headed by Professor Li Jian, Chairman, University council and they visited Sharda University campus on the October 3rd 2012. Other members of the delegation were Prof. Lu Jiangbin, Dean of School of foreign student education, Prof. Zeng Yixin, Dean of School of software engineering, Prof. Deng Lanying, Vice Director of Faculty of medicine, Dr. Long Tao, Vice Director of president’s office and Dr. Li Xiaoshu, Vice Director of international office.
According to the agreement, the universities will soon start with an exchange program. This exchange program will be credit based and students from Sharda University will be able to opt for a semester at Wuhan University.This semester will facilitate the understanding of Chinese technological advances in the fields of computer science, multimedia and e-commerce. The program will also give an opportunity to Chinese students to complete a semester at Sharda University.
Welcoming the delegates from China, Vice Chancellor Mr. J.P. Gupta stated, “Sharda University since its inception is trying to build competitive professionals to match market standards. An to achieve the results we plan to get into collaborations with other international universities so that we can nurture our students to meet the global demands.”
Speaking on the occasion Chancellor Mr. P.K. Gupta mentioned, “It gives me immense pleasure in announcing the MOU with Wuhan University of China. We want our students to get the best of international exposure and develop a deeper understanding of international best practices related to science and technology. China has made immense progress in the past decade and there is a lot our students will learn from this exchange-program.”
Appreciating the partnership, Professor Zeng Yixin, Dean School of Software Engineering said, “Sharda University is a name to reckon with in terms of educational opportunities and we are delighted to bring one of India’s leading University’s programs to our students.”
It may be noted that Sharda University has already entered into international collaborations with Middlesex University, London (UK), Northhumbia University (England), GMIT (Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology, Galway), Centro De Investigacion Y De Estudios Avanzados Del Ipn (Cinvestav, Mexico), Hochschule Bremerhaven, University of Applied Sciences (Germany), Tertiary Education Commision Of Mauritius (Mauritius), Istanbul Aydin University, Istanbul (Turkey), Payap University (Thailand) and Aeromap Technology Systems (Kingdom of Bahrain).
