India as a nation has been one of the fastest growing economies in the world, witnessing a steady growth in this flailing global economy. On this day, the 26th January, 68 years ago, India established itself as a sovereign state, giving birth to the Constitution of India and like always, it celebrated this glorious day with pride and valour. Sharda University too expressed its patriotism towards the nation by celebrating the Republic Day of India on 26th January 2017, with pride and dignity.
With the hosting of the Indian Flag at early in the morning and hymns of the national anthem illuminating the hearts of the audience, Sharda University joined the entire nation in the grand ceremony of patriotism on its own campus. It was a glorious moment when the entire country felt so connected at a single time and students of Sharda University brought alive this feeling of ‘oneness in diversification’ by portraying the culture from all the 29 states of India on one stage. It all started from the flag hosting and the singing of our National Anthem to the tribute given to the freedom fighters, our defence force, the constitution of the country, the people and its culture. With songs, dialogues, dance forms and many other magnificent acts, the students brought close the entire country in the hearts of the audience.
Dressed in the traditional attires of different states like Kashmiris in Phirans and Bengalis in the Baluchari Saree, the performers stunned the audience with their elegant performances. Performers representing West Bengal stood out with a mix of act and dance as a part of their performance followed by a marvellous representation of culture by the dance groups for Maharashtra and Uttarakhand. Another exultant moment was to see students representing Arunachal Pradesh stage their performance and the dance forms straight from Manipur and Mizoram were just as illuminating and fascinating as the land. The other Indian states were also showcased by the students with equal fervour and enthusiasm. Each one of them gave their all-out effort to participate and connect the country as one to celebrate this enchanting day of the year as a special Indian.
The celebration did not just end with the states. Rather it continued with the International Students of Sharda University also participating in the ceremony, signifying the bond India has with the global countries. Nepal, South Africa, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and four other countries presented their cultural appearances along with the performances by the Indian states. Besides, the achieving students of the university were awarded on this grand occasion.
The celebration at Sharda University was not just for Republic Day of India but it was also celebrated as the day where we promise to serve and support our country towards growth and advancement, towards women empowerment and providing education to all and towards the betterment of global mankind. The prime day represented the celebration of the Republic Day of India followed by the glorification of mankind and its mighty bonding.
