Sharda University, the only multi-discipline campus in NCR celebrated Krishna Janmashtami in its University Campus at Greater Noida. The University is known for its commitment to valuing cultures of students from different backgrounds. As a part of the institution’s legacy, students from over 55 countries share the joy of observing festivals together.
Lord Krishna was one of the incarnations of Lord Vishnu who came on Earth to eradicate the evils prevailing in the society. During the course of his life, he preached about love, devotion and truthfulness.
While India prepared to celebrate the auspicious day of Lord Krishna’s birth, Sharda University also lined up events paying reverence to the idol of love and uprightness, Kanha. The Diversity Club and Hostel Committee organised cultural events and looked back on the historical importance of the day.
The celebrations lasted for two days. On the first day, that was the 24th of August, arrangements were made at Audi 014, Block 3, Sharda University by its Diversity Club. The event began at 03:00 pm with lamp lighting. Students presented dance, music and plays glorifying the eminence of Lord Krishna.
Celebrations continued on the 25th of August, day of Lord Krishna’s birth where students and faculty members from different countries graced the event. Hostel Committee made arrangements for the function at University Temple, near KASTURBA Hostel, Sharda University. An outdoor programme was planned which started at 10:00 am. Gatherers sought blessings of the almighty after which cultural activities followed to commemorate the day.
In accordance with the teachings of the Lord, Sharda University grooms its students so that they become affluent professionals, and also foster goodness in the society by exalting individuals from different ethnicities.
