Chorus Fest, had anchored the interests and the energy of youth to a new altitude. Swapping the weather of studies and boredom with fueling energy and engaging events, Chorus Fest, organized by Sharda University has set a launch pad for talent to showcase itself and prove its dynamism. The North India’s largest annual cultural festival started from March 10, 2016 with many entertaining events and competitions followed by a high amount of rejoice and fervor amongst the students.
The formal ceremonial opening of this four-day annual cultural festival witnessed the magnificent spectacle of lighting the traditional lamp and Saraswati Vandana, welcoming speeches, captivating night fireworks, excellent dance performances, classical music (solo), instrumentals, and group music. The next few hours of opening ceremony were amazingly enjoyable and emotionally uplifting.
With an impressive beginning by honorable chief guest Gokaraju Ganga Raju, BJP MP from Andhra Pradesh and Vice President of BCCI South Zone, Chorus Fest unhooked its series of programmes, starting with Indian Hip Hop Dance Championship which was organized by Hip Hop International India, produced by Chorus, in association with SAC Entertainment. The event was formulated with the ambition of finding a hypnotic performer or group of performers and it can be proudly said that the goal was achieved as Hip Hop International shortlisted 2 groups from Lady Sri Ram College (Delhi University) and an individual hailing from Bombay.
As March 11, 2016 saw its morning, events like Rowdies- Sharda adaptation of hit MTV series Roadies, Battle of Bands- inter –university combat of the title sprinting on rock, metal and other different styles, Gonfle of Gaming- communal LAN gaming igniting stiff competition of concentration and velocity amongst serious gamers and The Big Boyz Theory- one-day occasion for creative boys for brandishing their modified cars or just luxurious cars commanded curiosities and time of students, not only from Sharda but also from other universities who were either participators or part of the mighty audience.
The fest boldly marched towards March 12, 2016 and started with panache and beauty as Campus Princess flagged its Greater Noida auditions, produced by Chorus, in association with SAC entertainment. Countless beauties from universities like Amity, NIFT, Galgotias, Gargi College and Lady Sri Ram College of Delhi University and not to forget Sharda walked the ramp in front of virtuous judges. Campus Princess 2016 Miss India’s aspiration of finding a perfect face with inspiring intellect got fulfilled when they found a student from LSR (DU) named Ishita who won the crown. The spell of the events continued to find its colossal audience as Nukkad Natak, centered at various outgoing subjects in the society was enacted by students from various universities of India. Topics like Nationalization, Swach Bharat, Gender Equality, The last laugh/ Significance of Circus in modern society, Girl Rights, Why we don’t raise a question and Indian Superstitions were some of the themes that were performed by students and incredibly moved the audience.
March 13, 2016 greatly welcomed the day with events like Mosaic Bands- group dance, Clash of Titans- debating gala, Rang Manch- skit performances by various students of different universities and a Celebrity Night where Kanika Kapoor performed live and infuriated tremendous energy in the audience. The fest traded the minds of students with exclusive energy and infused it with creativity and motivation to come up again and perform the next time in the university. A brilliant fest fused with momentum and promise!
