Sourav Khatua is an Indian civil engineer making waves in the American construction firmament. He is currently working as a project engineer with KSK Construction Group, New York.
The adept professional has proficient experience in construction and project handling. His areas of expertise include field inspection of bridges and apartments while the construction is underway, understanding structural drawings and drafts, and providing cost estimation. Sourav is good in Software skills like Timberline, SAP, AutoCAD, Primavera P6, Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
Sourav embarked on his journey to achieving excellence in 2009 when he joined Sharda University. He joined the varsity under the B.Tech (Civil) programme and completed the degree in 2013.
Khatua started early in life and joined an internship with Steel Authority of India(SAIL) as a site civil engineer; he served 2 short stints at Vij Engineers & Consultants and then at Hiland Group, Kolkata.
Later, he applied for higher studies in America and was accepted for the master’s program at Akron University, Ohio in Civil Engineering (Structural) for the year 2016-17. During the study, he was involved in project planning and project management. His project reports include reduction of structural cracking in reinforced concrete bridge decks (Supervised by Ohio dot) and testing of the non-woven fabric to increase the structural strength of concrete.
Sourav is also a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers. As an active member of the group, Sourav also volunteered as a Judge at the 60th Annual Akron’s Citywide Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Expo 2016.
