The festive mood of the ongoing Chorus extravaganza got a fresh boost today (Saturday, 11 March 2016) with live musical performances by Punjabi singers Jassi Gill and Babbal Rai at the Greater Noida campus of Sharda University. While enjoying the ‘Celebrity Night’ in the evening, a large number of students happily grooved on the popular Punjabi tracks sung the heart throbs.
The third day of the annual techno-Cultural festival began with rains in the morning. But it failed to dampen the spirits of the participants and all the event and competitions continued as planned, though with little adjustments of timings.
It started with ‘Clash of Titans’ which saw interesting speeches by competitors from Sharda and other universities. Four speakers for selected for the grand finale tomorrow (12 March). Rangoli Making Competition was another competition in which students participated with great enthusiasm. In the form of beautiful rangoli designs, the participants depicted their imaginations with colours. The theme of all the designs created by students was so unique and fetched loads of compliments.
It was followed by various other competitions such as Mr and Ms Glamour, Gully Cricket, Clash Of Titans, Mr and Ms Chorus, Gonfle Gaming, Futsal, Nukkad Natak, Prodigy, Sur Sartaj, Collage, Czar Of Taste, Click It, Sound Check, Sur Sartaj (Solo Singing), Style Fiesta (Fashion Show), Rowdies, Battle of Bands, Clash of Titans, JAM – Just a Minute, Quiz, and Campus Princess that held on the second day of mega annual fest of Sharda University.
All the competitions lined-up to provide an independent platform to the “Jack of all trades, master of none” and let them exhibit their passion. Acknowledged as one of the largest North India’s cultural college fest in the recent times, Sharda University ‘Chorus’ received a huge registration for several competitions from some of the notable institutions: AMU, Jammu University, Amity, Galgotia, LPU, G.L. Bajaj, SRM (Haryana), Islamic Universities (Kashmir), etc.
The four-day festival which began on Thursday, will conclude on Sunday, March 13. Conceptualized as a remarkable happening, the Grand-Fiesta destined to platform the young talents while adding the real spirit of celebration topped with an extravaganza of fun, frolic and enthusiasm. Every year, this cultural fest of Sharda University was celebrated with great zeal and it has seen the grand success followed by the fantastic participation.
For students, faculties and non-teaching staff, the festival was a ‘never-to-miss opportunity’ to steal a moment from their monotonous lifestyle and submerge like a free bird in the sky of joviality. In short, Chorus has been an eclectic mix of exuberance, gala and people.
