Profile
Looking at the changing geopolitical and economic landscape of the globe, and especially India, greater responsibility lies on academic institutions. With India's growing economy and her ambitions to become a global technology development and manufacturing hub, institutions need to focus on creating innovations.
Sharda University is ambitiously preparing herself to shoulder this responsibility by developing a rigorous curriculum and adopting the practices that foster the innovation ecosystem.
In 2022, at Sharda University, I was entrusted with developing a Center for Industry Integration & Knowledge Exchange, from conceptualization to implementation. Our programs now embed problem-based learning (PBL) and industrial projects, leading to product development in collaboration with industry up to Technology Readiness Level 4 (TRL-4). This involves understanding industry problems, team building for research, student evaluation, project management, and monitoring across diverse disciplines. These efforts led to collaborations with more than 300 industries, including MSMEs, the skilling of more than 1000 students, and 25 industry projects leading to joint IPRs and product development. This has also shown a significant transformation in teaching-learning processes, the faculty approach, and the mindset of the students. I invite you to Sharda University to challenge and transform yourself.
With a PhD in wireless communication, specifically in signal processing for cognitive communication and networks from Aalborg University, Denmark, and 17 years of teaching experience, including 8 years of research experience in Electronics and Communication Engineering, I am confident in my ability to contribute effectively in these endeavors.
My academic journey began at Aalborg University, a globally recognized institution, and continued with a postdoctoral research fellowship at Bar-Ilan University, supported by the prestigious Israeli Science Foundation. At Bar-Ilan, I developed algorithms for wireless network management related to 5G, utilizing stochastic geometrical and game theoretic tools. I have had the privilege of working closely with renowned professors such as Prof. Ramjee Prasad from Arhus University, Denmark, Prof. Abhay Karandikar from IIT Bombay, and Prof. Amir Leshem from Bar-Ilan University.
Throughout my career, I have published numerous research contributions in respected peer-reviewed journals like IEEE Systems Journal and Springer, as well as at reputed IEEE conferences. Additionally, I serve on the review committees of IEEE Systems Journal, Springers International Journal of Wireless Information Networks, and Springers Wireless Personal Communications Journal.
From 2010 to 2019, I was engaged in rigorous research, which has instilled in me a scientific discipline enabling independent research. I am passionate about incubating elegant ideas, formulating them succinctly, and striving to reach goals with scientific integrity. My teaching and research experience have exposed me to numerous examples of great ideas, and I am eager to contribute to a vibrant academic environment.
I am currently working on ""Free Space Optical Communication System for Vehicular Networks.” I have also established a collaborative research partnership to develop new algorithms for 'A Novel Modulation schemes for 6G and D2D communication with Dr Albena Mihovska from Arhus University, Denmark.
My international experience includes working with Jimma University, Ethiopia, under the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). I have also served in academic administration roles, including Dean Academics, Associate Dean Research, and Principal at Trinity College of Engineering & Research, Pune, and as a NAAC coordinator. My interactions with distinguished professors such as Prof. Ramjee Prasad, Prof. Abhay Karandikar, Prof. Amir Leshem, and the late Prof. Vimal Singh have enriched my academic life.
My background in signal processing has sparked an interest in AI and machine learning, and I am keen to explore these areas further. My diverse and multi-dimensional experience in academics, administration, leadership, and sports makes me eligible for a leadership role in your esteemed organization.
